Metector wants to take the next step with Prosmart
Metector in Markaryd works with tube, wire and sheet-metal constructions. They use Prosmart daily to streamline their processes. In many ways, it is a typical industrial business where Prosmart can deliver significant value immediately. Metector is now ready to take the company to new levels, both in production capacity and in its use of the ERP.
Components for premium furniture
Metector is a subcontractor to companies that manufacture furniture, interiors and lighting. The business focuses on producing small volumes of metal components, such as parts for higher-end furniture. In other words, the components do not end up in low-cost furniture delivered in flat-pack boxes. Production is based on extensive craftsmanship and a high degree of automation, where metal parts are cut, bent, ground, welded, polished, etc., to become key elements in premium furniture. The company’s largest customer, and also a co-owner, is Johanson Design, which is also located in Markaryd. Both companies have been using Prosmart for a long time.
“We use Prosmart extensively, and today it feels like a natural part of our operations. Overall, everything feels logical and the system has clear overviews, which makes it easy to understand and use.” Mats-Ola Pålsson, CEO and co-owner, Metector
Comfortable with Prosmart
According to Mats-Ola, Metector’s processes are not particularly complex. In terms of size, operations and processes, Metector is a seemingly typical manufacturing company. Production is based on relatively simple, traditional structures in a few steps, but it still places high demands on the business system. Metector manages more than 10,000 different components in Prosmart, which means there are many details to keep track of. Nothing can go wrong when they handle work orders, time entries, or linking drawings.
With Prosmart, Metector can create orders from purchase orders via drag & drop, so that item numbers, prices, lead times and much more are synced in both directions. When Metector delivers and invoices, Johanson Design can import the invoices and match the information against purchasing, goods receipt, deviations, etc.
– I think it is a cost-effective system that covers our needs right now. We also have the ambition to grow further, and as we grow, the processes will naturally become more numerous and larger. In that respect, I feel comfortable with Prosmart; it is mostly up to us to start using all the functions to their full potential, says Mats-Ola Pålsson, CEO and co-owner.
Facilitates quality work
Metector is quality certified according to ISO 9001. The certification process was made easier thanks to Prosmart, as many of the routines required for certification are built in from the start.
– In general, I think we get a lot out of Prosmart, from the collaboration to the features, both in day-to-day production and in long-term quality work, says Mats-Ola.
