Prosmart has made everyday work easier for Grimmereds Verkstad

In 2021, Grimmereds Verkstads AB turned 75, and did so with strong plans for the future—thanks in large part to Prosmart, the ERP that made the work easier.

Breaking with tradition

Area of work: Contract manufacturing and service in sheet metal and welding.
Specialties: Everything from large steel structures to small, fast jobs.
That is how Grimmereds Verkstad, which has been in the same premises in Västra Frölunda since 1952, describes its operations. The company was founded six years earlier.

– I trained as an electrician and was not interested in this type of business at all. It was my father who asked if I wanted to start working in the workshop, and that’s how it happened. My grandfather started Grimmereds Verkstad and also worked here for many years, says Fredrik Andersson, who today is one of two workshop managers.

Since 2016, Prosmart has been an important partner for Grimmereds Verkstad. The opportunity to get a system tailored to their own operations was what appealed most.
However, Fredrik Andersson says it was an adjustment to move away from Excel spreadsheets to make room for a new business system.

– At first, it was probably us who found it a bit difficult to let go of tradition, to break the pattern. But once it clicked for us, Prosmart has helped us enormously with our development.

Fredrik Andersson mentions Prosmart’s accessibility as part of the success.

– You feel that you can always get in touch and receive a quick response.

Fredrik Andersson sees the fact that Prosmart is a company with relatively few employees as a major advantage.

– It means we have been able to build a personal relationship with Prosmart, and you can tell that they care about us.

Unusual collaborations

Fredrik Andersson is now in his 20th year at Grimmereds Verkstad, and when he looks back at the company’s history, he highlights several challenging projects.

– We do not work with large production runs, but mostly with shorter jobs, even though they can be large. Some unusual things come up, for example collaborations with artists who have set the framework for a project where we are responsible for the actual execution.
– It is a great feeling when you can help make someone’s dreams come true.

And with Prosmart’s help, it makes things easier for Grimmereds Verkstad in many ways, for example by providing a better overview of invoices, as well as job status and time.

– Prosmart has a simplicity that we really appreciate, says Fredrik Andersson.
